Men's Golf Stands Third in Strong Brickyard Field

The Princeton men's golf team had a strong start to the Brickyard Collegiate Championship Friday in Macon, Ga., standing third in the 15-team field.
The only teams in front of Princeton after Friday were Georgia and North Florida, the No. 5- and the No. 40-ranked teams, respectively, according to the Oct. 4 Golfweek rankings. Eleven of the 15 teams in the field are in the top 100 in those rankings, with the highest-ranked team behind Princeton being Georgia Tech at No. 11.
At 8-under, Georgia holds a three-shot lead over North Florida and a six-shot lead over Princeton. Individually, Georgia's Nicholas Reach leads the field at 4-under, one shot ahead of seven players, including Princeton's Quinn Prchal, at 3-under.
