Getting To Know: Mike Monovoukas '12
February 01, 2012 | Men's Swimming and Diving
Continuing the series of features on Princeton swimmers, men's tri-captain Mike Monovoukas talks about his road from Massachusetts to Princeton, as well as the highly successful Class of 2012 and his veteran head coach, Rob Orr.
Monovoukas, a Lexington, Mass., native, has been a key contributor on the 2009, 2010 and 2011 Ivy League championship teams. He has been a first-team All-Ivy honoree as a member of winning relays, and he reached eight individual championship finals throughout his first three years. Last year, Monovoukas recorded the 12th most individual points in the Ivy League Championships (78) and helped Princeton edge Harvard by 5.5 points to win its third straight Ivy League title. He reached three individual championship finals and placed third in both the 100 free and 100 fly, as well as sixth in the 50 free.
Monovoukas will lead Princeton back to Massachusetts this weekend for his final H-Y-P meet, held Friday-Saturday at Blodgett Pool. Check back with GoPrincetonTigers.com Thursday for a full preview.
