No. 24 Women's Basketball to Face Kansas State in the NCAA Tournament

On a day of program and Ivy League firsts, the No. 24 Princeton women's basketball team earned a conference-best No. 9 seed in the 2012 NCAA Tournament. The Tigers will face No. 8 seed Kansas State (19-13, 9-9 Big 12) on Saturday, Mar. 17 at 11:20 a.m. in Bridgeport, Conn. in the first round. The game will be broadcasted on an ESPN affiliate channel (ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPN3).
Princeton, the first-ever nationally ranked Ivy women's basketball program, finished the regular season with a 24-4 overall record. The Tigers won the Ivy League automatic bid for the third consecutive season, after going 14-0 in conference play for the second time in three seasons. In its last two trips to the Big Dance, Princeton fell in the first round. Princeton lost to No. 9 seed St. John's in Tallahassee in 2010 and to Georgetown, a No. 5 seed, in 2011 in College Park.
Saturday's winner will advance to the second round to face the winner of the No. 1 seed Connecticut - No. 16 seed Prairie View matchup on Monday, Mar. 19.
