Baseball to Play Pair of Midweek Games at No. 4 UNC and UNCG

Coming off its first series victory of the season, the Princeton baseball team will look to extend its two-game winning streak at No. 4 North Carolina and UNC Greensboro this week. The Tigers will face the Tar Heels (16-4 overall, 5-1 ACC) on Tuesday, Mar. 20 at 6 p.m., before taking on the Spartans (11-8 overall, 2-4 Southern Conference) the following evening at 6 p.m.
On Deck: Princeton will wrap up its spring trip with a four-game series at Navy from Mar. 23-25.
Strong Offensive Output: The Tigers won their first series of the season at Richmond going 2-1. Princeton saw offensive domination over the Spiders, outscoring Richmond 43-32, including a 21-14 victory on Mar. 17. Senior Sam Mulroy went 6-for-14, tallying nine RBI, seven runs, two home runs, two walks and a double, while freshman Tyler Servais went 4-for-9, behind seven RBI, five runs, two doubles, two walks and a home run to lead the team.
The Princeton-UNC Connection: Both head coach Scott Bradley and assistant coach Lloyd Brewer played their college ball at North Carolina, earning All-ACC honors during their time in Chapel Hill.
Scouting No. 4 North Carolina: No. 4 North Carolina (16-4 overall, 5-1 ACC) is 2-2 in its last four games, most recently seeing a 1-0 loss at Maryland on Mar. 18. Colin Moran leads the Tar Heel quartet hitting above .300, as the junior third baseman is 30-for-82 (.366). He's tallied 21 RBI, 15 runs, seven doubles, two home runs and a triple. Kent Emanuel is the squad's top pitcher with a 1.67 ERA. He's 5-0 and has thrown 30 strikeouts, while allowing 30 hits and five walks.
Scouting UNC Greensboro: The Spartans of UNC Greensboro are 11-8 overall, 2-4 Southern Conference entering Wednesday's matchup. UNCG has seen 14 different pitchers take the mound, with Corey Taylor leading the team with a 3.47 ERA. Taylor is 2-1 in five appearances and has thrown 23 strikeouts in 23.1 innings pitched, while giving up 15 hits and eight walks. At the plate, Kris Richards leads the team with a .393 batting average. In 18 starts, he's 24-for-61 with 15 runs, 15 RBI, five doubles and four home runs. Four different Spartans are hitting above .300.
