March 21, 2012 | Baseball
After hitting .429 over Princeton's weekend series at Richmond, senior co-captain Sam Mulroy picked up another weekly honor. In addition to being named Ivy League Player of the Week, Mulroy was named Collegebaseballinsider.com's Northeast Player of the Week.
Mulroy was key in the Tigers earning their first series win over an opponent, as Princeton went 2-1 against the Spiders. During that span, Mulroy was 6-for-14, behind nine RBI, seven runs, two home runs and a double. He saw a season-best performance in game two of the series, tallying four hits, including a home run, and six RBI for a career-high. He also notched three runs in the game.
Following yesterday's game at No. 4 North Carolina, Mulroy has hit a home run in three consecutive games. The Princeton veteran and the Tigers (4-7) face UNC Greensboro this evening at 6 p.m.
