Baseball to Conclude Spring Trip at Navy

The Princeton baseball team will travel to Annapolis, Md. for four-game series at Navy (9-10) from Mar. 23-25. The series marks the final games of the Tigers (4-8) non-conference schedule.
Schedule:Friday, Mar. 23 - 3 p.m.
Saturday, Mar. 24 (DH) - 12 p.m./2:30 p.m.
Sunday, Mar. 25 - 12 p.m.
Last Time Out: The Tigers are riding a two-game skid, falling to No. 4 North Carolina 15-5 and to UNC Greensboro 6-3. Senior Sam Mulroy hit home runs in both games, but the offense was unable to create a final momentum push to get past both opponents.
Mulroy Earns Weekly Honors: Senior co-captain Sam Mulroy was named Ivy League Player of the Week and Collegebaseballinsider.com Northeast Player of the Week after helping guide the Tigers to their first series win over an opponent this season. Against Richmond, Mulroy was 6-for-14 (.429), behind nine RBI, seven runs, two home runs and a double. He saw a season-best performance in game two of the series, tallying four hits, including a home run, and six RBI for a career-high. He also notched three runs in the game.
Mulroy has hit a home run in Princeton's last four games.
Servais Named Ivy Rookie of the Week: Freshman Tyler Servais picked up Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors after a standout effort at Richmond. In game one against the Spiders on Mar. 16, Servias went 2-for-4, hitting his first career home run and tallying four RBI. The Colorado native went 4-for-9 (.444) over the weekend series, behind seven RBI, five runs, two doubles, two walks and a homer. Servais has played in eight games this season, making six starts. He is hitting .292 (7-for-24), fourth best on the team.
Scouting Navy: Navy is coming off a midweek 10-6 loss to Mount Saint Mary's entering this weekend's series. The Mids are 9-10 on the year and have four players hitting above .300. The offense is led by Nikolai Simonsen, who's 19-for-12 (.389) in 19 games played. Simonsen has tallied eight runs, four RBI, three triples and a double. On the mound, Ben Nelson has taken the bulk of Navy's innings. In 32.0 innings pitched, he has a 3.38 ERA and is 1-0. Nelson's thrown 30 strikeouts, while allowing 28 hits.
