Softball Ends Spring Trip with 4-3 Loss to Pacific
March 25, 2012 | Softball
STOCKTON, Calif. -- Pacific scored all four of its runs over the first three innings and defeated the Princeton softball team 4-3 Saturday afternoon to end Princeton's spring trip to California.
Princeton (3-16) mounted a comeback with a three-run fifth inning fueled by four singles and a walk, but a double play ended the rally.
Liza Kuhn (1-6) pitched the first three innings and took the defeat for Princeton, giving way to Meredith Brown for the final three frames. The rookie Brown gave up three hits but didn't walk a batter and kept Pacific off the board.
Dani Bonnet (6-4) pitched the first five inning for Pacific (17-10) before Tori Shepard preserved the two-run lead over the last two innings for the save.
Princeton will start the Ivy season Friday with a 2 p.m. twinbill against Dartmouth at Class of 1895 Field before hosting Harvard Saturday for two at 12:30 p.m.
