Rasheed Named Full Court Mid-Major All-American
March 25, 2012 | Women's Basketball
Princeton women's basketball standout Niveen Rasheed continues to collect postseason honors, earning Full Court Mid-Major All-American First Team accolades. The junior was one of five players from mid-major programs across the country to receive Full Court's top honors.
The unanimous selection for Ivy League Player of the Year and first team honors, Rasheed was also named to the Net Scouts All-America Honorable Mention and ECAC Women's Basketball All-Star First Team.
Rasheed was a dominant performer this year, leading the Ivy League in scoring (16.9) and rebounding (8.8). The third-year player was integral in the Tigers going 24-5 on the year and posting their second 14-0 Ivy slate in three seasons. In addition to winning its third straight Ivy title, a program first, Princeton was the first Ivy women's program to earn a national ranking. The No. 24 Tigers reached the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive season.
