Baseball Opens Five-Game Homestand with Seton Hall

The Princeton baseball team opens up a five-game homestand with a midweek non-conference game versus Seton Hall (16-14, 5-4 BIG EAST) on Tuesday, April 10. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Clarke Field.
Last Time Out: The Tigers (12-12, 6-2 Ivy League) swept Yale, before splitting with Brown to go 3-1 this past weekend on the road. Princeton defeated the Bulldogs, 6-3, and 2-1, in its first Ivy road series of the year on April 7. The following day, Matt Bowman struck out 12 batters en route to the Tigers 8-0 shutout victory over Brown to open doubleheader action. The Bears took a 13-0 lead before Princeton was able to open up its scoring game. Despite an eighth and ninth inning rally, the Tigers dropped a 13-6 decision to split the season series with Brown.
On Deck: Princeton will host a four-game weekend series versus Penn from April 14-15. Doubleheader action begins at 12 noon on both days.
Bowman Establishes New Career Strikeout Record: Junior Matt Bowman retired 12 batters at Brown for a new career-high on April 8. Bowman earned his first complete game shutout victory, 8-0, of the season over the Bears and improved his record to 3-2 on the year.
A Look at the League: Two weeks into conference play, Princeton is one game behind Cornell (7-1) in the Gehrig Division. The Tigers currently are in second place, with Columbia and Penn knotted for third. The Rolfe Division is led by 4-4 Dartmouth.
Leaders in the League: Princeton leads the Ivy League in team fielding, while Sam Mulroy is in the top-five in hits, runs scored, RBI, home runs and total bases. Alec Keller is No. 4 in hits, and Matt Bowman and Zak Hermans are third and fifth in strikeouts, respectively.
Scouting Seton Hall: Seton Hall (16-14, 5-4 BIG EAST) enters Tuesday's game riding a 3-0 sweep versus conference rival Notre Dame, including a pair of extra inning victories. Zack Granite leads the Pirate's at the plate with a .271 batting average (26-for-96). He has 16 runs, five RBI, five doubles and a triple in 23 starts on the year. Defensively, Jon Prosinski (4-2) has a 2.48 ERA to lead the Seton Hall rotation. He's thrown 35 strikeouts and allowed 56 hits against over 54.1 innings pitched.
