Caraun Reid Earns Preseason All-America Honor By The Sports Network

Senior Caraun Reid, a 2011 first-team All-Ivy League selection, is starting to get recognition beyond just the Ancient Eight. He was one of only two Ivy Leaguers who earned preseason All-America recognition by the Sports Network.
Reid, who should pair with co-captain Mike Catapano to form one of the league's top lineman pairings this season, earned his first preseason All-America honor after completing one of the best seasons in recent memory by a Princeton defensive lineman. He led all Ivy League linemen with 68 tackles, including 29 solo stops, and he led Princeton in tackles for loss (16), sacks (eight), pass breakups (three), quarterback hurries (three) and blocked kicks (three). He was named the Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Week after blocking two Dartmouth extra points in season finale, and he recorded at least five tackles in nine games and averaged nine tackles per game over final three weeks.
Reid had several individual dominant efforts throughout the season, including a brilliant career-high 11-tackle performance in the home finale against Yale. He had at least one sack in six games, including two apiece against both Harvard and Yale, and he recorded at least 2.5 tackles for loss in five games.
For his career, Reid has 102 tackles and more than 20 tackles for loss.
