2011 Ivy Rookie Of The Year Chuck Dibilio Will Not Return To School In Fall
August 14, 2012 | Football
Chuck Dibilio, the 2011 Ivy League Football Rookie of the Year, will not return to school for the 2012 fall semester as he continues to rehabilitate from a stroke suffered January 19.
“Chuck has made amazing progress over the last six months, and hopefully he will make even more in the next few months,” said Bob Surace, the Charles W. Caldwell Jr. '25 Head Coach of Football. “While we would have loved to have him on the football field this season, I believe he is making the best decision for his future, and I'm very hopeful we will see Chuck back on campus as a student in the spring.”
Dibilio was the breakout star of the Ivy League during the 2011 season after rushing for 1,068 yards, the most by any true freshman in Ivy history and the sixth-most by any Princeton running back in a single season. He tied an Ivy League record by being named Rookie of the Week six times, and he set a record by earning the same award during four consecutive weeks.
Besides being Princeton's first Ivy League Rookie of the Year since 1983, Dibilio was a first-team All-Ivy League honoree.
