Men's Water Polo Ranked 12th Nationally, Top CWPA Preseason Poll

The Princeton men's water polo team earned a No. 12 national ranking in the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Varsity Top 20 Preseason Poll with 46 points, it was announced Wednesday. The Tigers also topped the men's varsity CWPA conference coaches poll unanimously with 100 points.
The reigning CWPA Eastern Champion Tigers are slated to play the three top-ranked teams in Southern California, UCLA and California, respectively, along with a Sept. 22 match up with No. 14 Navy and a trip to the No. 5 UC Santa Barbara-hosted SoCal Tournament from Sept. 29-30. The weekend tournament will feature a pair of opponents to be determined.
The Tigers will open up the 2012 season next weekend hosting the three-day Princeton Invitational from Sept. 7-9. Princeton is slated to face No. 3 Cal at 6 p.m. on ESPNU on Friday, before wrapping up the tournament with UCLA on Sunday at 2:15 p.m.
