Men's Golf to Open Fall Season at Bethpage This Weekend

The Princeton men's golf team will head to a familiar fall tournament to open the season this weekend on Long Island.
Princeton has competed in the McLaughlin Invitational, hosted by St. John's at Bethpage Red in Farmingdale, N.Y., annually since 2006 and competed in the event for the first time in 1994. Princeton's highest finish in the event is second, achieved most recently in 2010.
The field brings in teams from all along the East Coast, including half the Ivy League. The participating teams are Auburn, Bethune-Cookman, Binghamton, Columbia, Dartmouth, Florida Southern, Harvard, Hofstra, Johnson & Wales, Louisville, Loyola Marymount, Marquette, Temple and West Florida joining Princeton and the host Red Storm.
The teams will play 36 holes Saturday, with Princeton teeing off between 8:40 and 9:20 a.m. The teams will play 18 holes Sunday with tee time determined by standing after Saturday. The course, which is the in the same complex that hosted the 2002 and 2009 U.S. Opens on Bethpage Black, is a par 70 measuring 7,014 yards.
