The Princeton women's soccer team continues its five-game homestand as it entertains St. Joseph's on Friday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m., at Roberts Stadium.
The teams have met just once before, in 2007, when the Tigers won 2-0.
The Tigers tied Colgate 4-4 on Sunday, two days after falling by just one goal, 2-1, to nationally ranked Wake Forest. Senior striker Jen Hoy scored four of Princeton's five goals on the weekend en route to being named the Ivy League Player of the Week. Senior midfielder Caitlin Blosser added the fifth tally. sophomore Melissa Downey, sophomore Jessica Hale, junior Gabriella Guzman and senior Rachel Sheehy each have one assist. Senior Kristin Watson started in both games in net and has a 1.33 goals against average and a .778 save percentage, stopping seven of nine shots. Princeton has not allowed a goal in the first half.
St. Joseph's season began just two days after Princeton started its preseason. The Hawks have defeated Binghamton (3-0), Villanova (2-1), Fairfield (1-0), tied American (2-2) and lost their most recent game to Hartford (5-2). Mo Hawkins leads the team in scoring with three goals, w hile Ali Yozwiak has scored twice. Nicole King has a goal and an assist, while Morgan Duggy, McHale Perkins, Morgan Circe, and Kayleigh Summers have two points apiece. Goalkeeper Christine Neal has played every minute in goal and has made 22 saves on 30 shots for a 1.53 GAA and a .733 save percentage.
