Men's Soccer Defeats Drexel 1-0 on Sanner Goal

PRINCETON, N.J. (10/8/13) - A goal by Thomas Sanner in the 59th minute led the Princeton men's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Drexel on Tuesday, Oct. 8 on Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium.
Sanner scored the unassisted goal by dribbing into the left corner with two defenders. He cut towards the goal and let loose a shot that beat netminder Tyler Afflerbach.
After a scoreless first half that saw two shots apiece for both teams, Princeton turned on the engine in the second half. The Tigers outshot the Dragons 11-2 in the second half and had five corner kicks to Drexel's two.
Sophomore Ben Hummel earned his first career win in his first career start. However the only save of the night came from defender Billy McGuinness who made a save off the line midway through the first half.
Afflerbach made three saves for Drexel.
Princeton improves to 4-5 and resumes Ivy League action on Saturday, Oct. 12 at Brown at 7 p.m.
