This Week for the Tigers: After playing its first 18 game on the road, the Princeton baseball team officially opens the home half of the 2013 schedule this weekend with a pair of doubleheaders. The Tigers (2-16) kick off Ivy League play with twinbills versus Yale (1-13) on Saturday, Mar. 30 and Brown (2-11) the next day. First pitch is set for 12 noon on both days.
Last Time Out: Princeton closed out the non-conference half of the year with seven games last week. The Tigers went 1-6, suffering three one-run defeats, including an extra inning loss, and a two-run loss. During that span, they faced then-No. 1 UNC, Elon, UNC-Greensboro and Navy.
On Deck: The Tigers head to Seton Hall on Wednesday, Apr. 3 for one of three midweek non-conference meetings over the final month of play. After its 3:30 p.m. game versus the Pirates, Princeton heads to Dartmouth and Harvard for the weekend.

Late Losses: The Tigers have suffered eight one-run and three extra inning losses this season.
From the Mound: Junior Mike Ford (1-0) earned his first win of the year in the Tigers 10-4 win at Navy on Mar. 23. He went seven frames, tossing two strikeouts and scattering nine hits. Along with leading the defensive efforts, Ford also went 2-for-2 with three RBI and walks at the plate to headline the offense.
He is Princeton's top pitcher with a 1.38 ERA over 26.0 innings, both team-bests.
Scouting Yale: Yale (1-13) heads to Princeton riding a 10-game losing skid, seeing its lone victory, 5-2, versus Bucknell on Mar. 13. Jacob Hunter and Eric Hsieh are the only Bulldogs to be hitting over .300, with Hunter's .333 leading the way. He's 14-for-42 and has five runs, four RBI, two doubles and a homer. Designated starters have yet to be determined for Yale, but Chris Lanham (0-3) has taken a team-high 20.1 innings. He sports a 5.31 ERA over four appearances. He's tossed 13 strikeouts, nine walks and given up 23 hits.
Scouting Brown: Brown (2-11) returns to the East Coast after a five-game swing in the state of Washington. The Bears went 1-4 in the Pacific Northwest, as they were swept by Washington State and spilt with Gonzaga. Brown's offense is led by Daniel Massey, who is one of three hitting above .300, with a .396 batting average (19-for-48). He has five RBI, three runs, two doubles and a home run in 13 appearances. Brown's probable starters have yet to be determined, but Dave St. Lawrence (0-2) leads the rotation with 20.1 innings pitched. He has a 7.97 ERA, nine strikeouts and has given up 32 hits against.
