In Final Prep for Ivy, @princetongolf Men to Visit Century Intercollegiate
April 18, 2013 | Men's Golf
The Princeton men's golf team will play in the Century Intercollegiate outside of New York City for the third straight year this weekend in their final tournament before the Ivy League Championship.
It's the third tournament of the spring for the Tigers, who finished fourth at the Yale Spring Opener and third at the Princeton Invitational last weekend. Bernie D'Amato was the individual champion at the Yale Spring Opener and Greg Jarmas and Quinn Prchal co-led Princeton while finishing seventh overall at the annual home tournament.
Like the Yale Spring Opener, this tournament will also be hosted by the Bulldogs, but not at their home course. The Century Country Club in Purchase, N.Y. will feature a course measuring 6,807 yards and a par of 71.
Princeton will see five teams this weekend that played in the Princeton Invitational last weekend, including Brown, Cornell, Dartmouth, Temple and host Yale, with Rhode Island also in the field. The teams will play one round each day Saturday and Sunday.
In a change from the standard tournament format, teams will play six players instead of the usual five and count the top four scores. Princeton will tee off beginning at 10:57 a.m. Saturday, with Sunday's play beginning as early as 10:15 a.m. depending on standing after Saturday.
