Seven Tigers, Team Earn CWPA Academic Honors

Six Princeton men's water polo players were named to the 2012 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Scholar-Athlete Team. To be recognized student-athletes must maintain a 3.2 cumulative grade point average through the fall semester.
For the third consecutive year A.J. Galainena boasted a team-best GPA, earning outstanding honors for having a GPA above 3.71. Junior Sam Butler and sophomore Kevin Zhang picked up superior honors for having a GPA between 3.41-3.70, and Kurt Buchbinder, Alex Gow and Kayj Shannon each earned excellent honors for GPAs between 3.2-3.4.
As a team, the Tigers were one of 12 programs to have a cumulative GPA from Fall 2012 of 2.75 or higher. Princeton boasted a 3.10 GPA.
