Levene Runs a Meet Record and PR in the 10k to Open Sam Howell Invite

PRINCETON, N.J. (4/5/13) – Senior Abby Levene set a meet record in the women's 10,000 as the Princeton women's track & field team began the first day of the Sam Howell Invitational today, April 5 at Weaver Stadium.
Levene posted a winning time and a PR of 34:21.08 besting the time of former Princeton cross country assistant coach Lisa Baumert, who ran a 34:21.13 for Saucony in 2012.
Senior Greta Feldman won the 1500, an event of 24 competitors, at 4:23.04. Classmate Alexis Mikaelian was second at 4:25.25 and junior Molly Higgins was seventh at 4:28.90.
In the steeplechase, senior Mel Newbery ran 10:18.66 to finish third.
In the lone field event of the day, the discus, freshman Brielle Rowe took third. She threw to 44.26 (145-02).
The meet continues tomorrow, April 6 at 11 a.m., with the hammer throw.
