Dearborn Tabbed Southern Defensive Player of the Week
September 25, 2013 | Men's Water Polo
For the second time in as many weeks a Princeton men's water polo player was named Southern Division Defensive Player of the Week. Senior goalie Ben Dearborn collects the honor for the first time in his career, a week after fellow goaltender Alex Gow earned the accolade.
Dearborn started a pair of games, spanning five quarters of action last weekend for Princeton. He tallied 19 saves and an assist in the pair of victories, making a season-high 14 saves in the squad's 15-10 win over Johns Hopkins on Sept. 21.
On the year, Dearborn has 31 saves, two assists, a steal and owns a 3-0 record.
The veteran goalie and the undefeated 6-0 Tigers now prepare for their biggest test of the young season, a three-day seven-game outing to Southern California to face three top-10 teams, including No. 1 and 2 USC and UCLA, respectively.
