Men's Tennis to Resume Fall Play at Navy Invitational
September 26, 2013 | Men's Tennis
The Princeton men's tennis team's second fall event will bring the Tigers to the Navy All Conference Invitational Friday through Sunday.
Indiana, Arkansas, Penn State and host Navy will also send players to the event. The Tigers will start play at 9 a.m. Friday against Indiana, followed by Arkansas and Penn State at 2 p.m. Saturday. Navy is on the schedule at 2 p.m. Sunday.
This will be Princeton's first trip to Navy, which was once in the same tennis conference as Princeton, the Eastern Intercollegiate Tennis Association, since 2004. Among the ranked players whose teams are in the event are Arkansas' doubles pair of Mike Nott and Manfred Jeske, ranked ninth in the nation on the preseason list, and Indiana's Sam Monette, ranked 104th.
The Tigers will bring 10 players, including Augie Bloom, Jonathan Carcione, Tom Colautti, Dan Davies, Alex Day, Mohamed El Tonbari, Zack McCourt, Ben Quazzo, Florin Radu and Joshua Yablon, to the team's first event since opening the schedule with the annual Princeton/Farnsworth Invitational two weekends ago. It will also be the first of two straight weekends the Tigers will head south in the fall campaign, with the Virginia Fall Classic coming up on the first weekend of October.
