Many former rowers will be making their return to Princeton for the upcoming Alumni Weekend, and they will have the opportunity to get a final glimpse this fall of the 2014-15 Tiger rowing teams. The annual Princeton Chase signals the end of fall racing, and continues to be one of the top collegiate events of the fall season.
Racing will begin Sunday at 9:30 am with the heavyweights, and it will continue through the morning with the lightweight men and the women. The afternoon will allow the rowers a second chance to compete in the fours, while most freshmen in the boathouse will get to make their Princeton debuts in the afternoon.
The Princeton Chase course is 2.75 miles long. The start of the race is the normal finish line at the Kingston end of Lake Carnegie. The finish is just before the Washington Road bridge. Spectators may watch the racing from the start located just off Route 27 (Nassau Street) at the Kingston end of the lake, the Harrison Street bridge or the finish at the Washington Road bridge located near the Princeton boathouse.
Princeton will have multiple entries in every race. Last year, all four programs posted a Top-3 finish in their respective 8+ competitions, with both the heavyweight men and lightweight women claiming Princeton Chase championships.
