Princeton's women's golf team had a strong first day at the Lehigh Invitational at Bethlehem's Saucon Valley Country Club, with the top spot on the team leaderboard and the top three on the individual tote being occupied by Tigers.
Alexandra Wong leads the field after posting a 2-over 74, one shot in front of teammates Tenley Shield and Hana Ku, though Shield is playing as an individual. Even without being able to count Shield's score toward the team total, the Tigers have a 12-shot lead over host Lehigh in the nine-team event, finishing Sunday's first round at +26.
Shield's 75 was the lowest round of the freshman's young Tiger career, and Wong and Shield each had birdies on par-3 holes Sunday, with Shield's coming on the fifth hole and Wong's on the third.
