Hoffenberg Named Suburban Transit Athlete of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. – Princeton University men's water polo senior Drew Hoffenberg has been named the Suburban Transit GoPrincetonTigers.com Athlete of the Week after helping the Tigers to an eighth CWPA Southern Championship.
Racking up 10 goals in three games, Hoffenberg also collected seven drawn ejections, six assists, three steals and two blocks. Opening the weekend against Gannon, the senior found the back of the opposing net on all three of his shots while dishing out four helpers and nabbing a pair of steals.
Turning in another hat trick against Johns Hopkins, he drew two ejections and made a pair of blocks. In the Southern Championship title game against Bucknell, Hoffenberg tallied four goals on eight shots with two assists, two drawn ejections and a steal.
Netting at least three scores in five consecutive games, Hoffenberg currently leads the team in goals (57) while ranking second in assists (24) and steals (38). With 233 career goals, the co-captain currently ranks fourth on the program's all-time charts, surpassing Christopher Gratian's mark of 231. Hoffenberg is also second in the school's career rankings in assists (125) and is the only Tiger to ever record at least 200 goals and 100 helpers.
