Cornell, which entered the game with the a 0.43 goals against average and 11 shutouts, couldn't handle Princeton's offense and allowed two goals for just the second time this season.
Cornell had the better chances in the first half but the Tigers' defense was up to the challenge. The Big Red's best effort came from Vincent Brunetti in the 12th minute but junior Ben Hummel was able to reach the shot that deflected off a Princeton defender and keep the sheet clean. Hummel had another great save in the 51st minute denying Peter Chodas with a diving stop.

Cornell earned a free kick just over the midfield line and Chodas took the restart. The ball reached the near post and Morgan headed it in just inside the post to even it up, 1-1 in the 84th minute.
The Tigers pushed for the go-ahead goal and started to rapid fire on Cornell keeper Zach Zagorski. Nico Hurtado, Brendan McSherry and Brian Costa all fired shots that went just high of the mark and McSherry rifled a shot on target.
It was McSherry that set up the winning goal in the 88th minute when he sent a cross into the box were players for both teams converged with Mills getting the final touch in the scrum and sending the ball into the right corner.
