Men's Soccer Keeps Streak Alive in 2-0 Shutout at American

WASHINGTON, D.C. (11/5/14) - Junior goalkeeper Ben Hummel made six saves and earned his fifth shutout of the season as the Princeton men's soccer team defeated American 2-0 in the final non-conference game of the season.
The Tigers are now unbeaten in their last seven games, 6-0-1 and are 9-3-3 overall.
After a scoreless first half, senior Cameron Porter scored his 13th goal of the season to put Princeton on the board. The goal came in the 65th minute when he buried a shot from 15 yards out in the top left corner behind Lucas Belanger.
Junior Thomas Sanner expanded the lead in the 80th minute on a counter attack. Hummel sent a goal kick out and sophomore Brian Costa fed Sanner for his eighth goal of the year.
American outshot Princeton 15-12, coming on strong in the second half, 12-6. Belanger made four saves in the loss after starting in place of Dylan Hobart as the Eagles fall to 10-4-3 overall.
Princeton hosts Penn in the final home game of the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m., The Tigers are tied for first place in the Ivy League standings with two games remaining.
