Kevin O'Toole '22 Signs Contract Extension with New York City FC

NEW YORK CITY – Kevin O'Toole '22 signed a contract extension with New York City FC through the 2028/29 season with an option for the 2029/30 season, the MLS side announced Thursday.
After being picked by NYCFC in the Second Round of the 2022 MLS Superdraft, defender O'Toole has gone on to make 111 appearances, recording two goals and tallying four assists across all competitions for New York City.
The Montclair, N.J., native made his first professional start in the 2022 Campeones Cup against Liga MX champions Atlas FC, where he played an important role in helping the 'Boys in Blue' claim silverware.
In November 2025, O'Toole's was named to the Republic of Ireland National Team roster for the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers against Portugal and Hungary, marking his first senior international call-up.
Before being drafted, O'Toole was a standout player for the Tigers. A 2021 United Soccer Coaches First Team All-American and two-time Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year, O'Toole finished his career with 15 goals and 18 assists - ranking fifth in program history. He was also a three-time United Soccer All-Region selection, and three-time first-team All-Ivy honoree.
In 2021, O'Toole posted seven goals and nine assists for 23 points as Princeton played its way to an Ivy League championship with just the second 7-0-0 Ivy season in program history. His nine assists this season are tied for third all-time in a season by a Tiger.
