Dietrick Named Ivy League Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. – Senior co-captain Blake Dietrick of the Princeton University women's basketball team has been named the Ivy League Co-Player of the Week after helping the Tigers to a pair of non-conference wins over Drexel and American.
Averaging 15.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game, Dietrick shot 47.8 percent (11-for-23) from the floor and 46.2 percent (6-for-13) from three-point range. Turning in a solid all-around effort against the Dragons, Dietrick finished with 12 points, seven rebounds and six assists in 32 minutes.
Playing all 40 minutes against American, she grabbed seven rebounds and dished out seven helpers while committing just one turnover. Knocking down 7-of-12 shot attempts and 4-of-6 threes, Dietrick netted a game-high 19 points.
Through the team's first four games, Dietrick leads Princeton in assists (5.0 apg) while ranking second on the squad in points (13.3 ppg) and rebounds (7.8 rpg) per game. Shooting 45.2 percent (19-for-42) from the floor and 45.5 percent (10-for-22) from long distance, she has connected on 71.4 percent (5-for-7) of her free throw attempts.
Dietrick and the Tigers will travel to the Hard Rock Hotel in Riviera Maya, Mexico over the Thanksgiving holiday to compete in the 2014 Cancun Challenge. Princeton opens play against Wake Forest on Nov. 27 before squaring off with Montana (11/28) and Charlotte (11/29).
