Butler, Mitrovic Garner CWPA Southern Division Weekly Honors

PRINCETON, N.J. – Helping Princeton earn a second consecutive berth into the CWPA Championship game, freshman Vojislav Mitrovic was named the Southern Division Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week, while Sam Butler garnered recognition as the Southern Player of the Week.
The award is Butler's second weekly honor this season, having also been named the Southern Division Player of the Week on Oct. 13. This is Mitrovic's third Defensive Player of the Week accolade, having previously earned distinction on Sept. 8 and Oct. 13.
Stopping 37 of the 49 shots he faced in three games at the CWPA Championship, Mitrovic posted a 0.755 save percentage. Allowing just two goals against Johns Hopkins, he made eight saves. After turning away 14 of 17 shots-on-goal against Navy, he made 15 stops in the final against Brown. Logging 663:37 minutes in 22 appearances, Mitrovic closed out his rookie campaign with a 18-3 overall record and a 0.604 save percentage.
A staple in the Tiger lineup, Butler collected two goals, six steals, and three assists at the CWPA Championship. Picking up two assists and three steals against Johns Hopkins, he scored on both shots he took against Navy. In the finale against Brown, Butler drew an ejection and recorded a steal. Starting 21 of his 24 appearances as a senior, he has amassed 11 goals, 13 assists and 32 steals in 2014.
