PRINCETON, N.J. (12/7/14) - In her last collegiate competition, Julia Ratcliffe won the 2014 NCAA Women's Hammer Throw. Her win in the weight throw this afternoon wasn't exactly on the same level but it's a heck of a start.
Ratcliffe threw the weight to 19.95 (65-5.50) to win the event and kick start Princeton's indoor track season as the Tigers hosted the New Year's Invitational on Sunday, Dec. 7 at Jadwin Gym.
Ratcliffe's throw is a personal best, a Princeton record and is the second-best throw in Ivy League history. Classmate Brielle Rowe was third in the event with a throw of 14.82 (48-7.50).
Sophomore Zoe Sims won the mile by nearly 10 seconds, with a time of 5:13.68
