Princeton struggled with turnovers (16) and at the free-throw line (10-20) despite making a strong comeback effort from being down as many as 15 points at Harvard Friday night. In the 82-76 win, the Crimson held off the Tigers for the fourth straight time in Cambridge, though Hans Brase (20) and T.J. Bray (26) posted career-high scoring totals. |

• The Tigers may be in an 0-2 hole in the Ivy League, but it's not unprecedented for a team to contend for the league title after an 0-2 start. Three times, in 1963 (Princeton), 1982 (Penn) and 1984 (Princeton), teams have come back from 0-2 to win an Ivy title. The 1982 Penn team was the only one to start 0-2 (two one-point losses at Yale and Brown) and run the table to finish 12-2. If the Tigers can win Saturday night, historical precedent increases slightly, with five teams, though none since 1984, coming back from a 1-2 start to win the league.
• Princeton has won five straight trips to Dartmouth's Leede Arena, last losing there in 2008. Princeton's average margin of victory in its last four trips to Dartmouth (2010-13) has been 20 points. The five-game win streak is Princeton's longest active road win streak in the Ivy, with Princeton's four straight wins at Columbia as next-closest.
• Princeton has a five-game winning streak at Leede Arena. That's the longest active road winning streak that Princeton has in the Ivy, one game more than the four straight Princeton has won at Columbia's Levien Gym.
• Against Dartmouth last season, Princeton prospered from beyond the arc, making 18 of 33 (.545) of their tries and at least 52 percent in each game.
• Dartmouth shot at least 43 percent in both games against Princeton last season but was below 40 percent from beyond the arc each time. The Big Green made 50 percent (35-70) of their 2-point tries against Princeton last season.
• The loss of Gabas Maldunas figures to hurt Dartmouth against Princeton. Last season, Maldunas averaged a double-double against the Tigers at 16.5 points and 10 rebounds, going 12 of 28 from the field. Tyler Melville, a senior this season, was the only Dartmouth player to score in double figures against Princeton last season, putting in 23 points in Jadwin Gym. Melville is the son of Princeton alum Randy Melville '81.
• Princeton is on its way to breaking program records for 3-pointers made and attempted this season and is making its 3s at a .380 clip this season. Dartmouth is allowing opponents a .367 average, fifth-lowest in the Ivy.
• Against Dartmouth, Ian Hummer had double-figure scoring games in both contests, but Princeton had three others in double figures (Brase, Barrett, Koon) at Dartmouth and two others (Barrett, Bray) at Princeton.
• Princeton has made the Harvard-Dartmouth trip annually since 1958. Princeton has swept the trip 33 times, split the trip 19 times, and has been swept four times. Princeton is looking for its first sweep of the trip since 2010, as Harvard has spoiled the sweep on each of the last three trips.
• When Harvard is the first stop on the Harvard-Dartmouth trip, Princeton has posted 21 sweeps, seven splits and has been swept twice.
• Princeton is the top scoring team in the Ivy League at 75.4 ppg and Dartmouth is seventh at 68.3 ppg. Dartmouth is third in scoring defense at 64.0 ppg allowed and Princeton is fifth at 67.1.
• Entering the week, Princeton was No. 1 in Division I in fewest total turnovers (155) and fewest total fouls (251). The team was 20th in turnovers per game (10.3) and 22nd in fouls per game (16.7).
• Entering the week, Princeton was in the top 100 in 16 of the 28 statistical categories the NCAA keeps. In addition to being No. 1 in fewest fouls and turnovers, the Tigers were fourth in Division I in 3-pointers per game at 10.5.
• Princeton is averaging 75.4 points per game this season, the program's best scoring average through 16 games since the 1971-72 season.
• When Princeton reached 66 points against Kean, it was the first time in program history that the team scored at least 66 in each of the first 15 games.
• Princeton's opponents have scored 33 or more points by halftime six times in 16 games. Four of the games were the losses to Penn, Harvard, Butler and Portland, and the other two against Lafayette and Penn State became wins only after second-half comebacks. Princeton is 8-0 when opponents score below 70 points and 4-4 when opponents reach 70.
• Princeton shot .311 (28-90) over the four-game stretch entering the Kean game and went 2-2 in those four contests. Over the first 10, the team shot .399 (113-283) from distance and went 9-1. The Tigers rebounded to shoot .395 against Kean and .385 at Harvard.
• Princeton's usual five ranges from 6-3 (Jimmy Sherburne) to 6-10 (Will Barrett) and averages 6-6. Dartmouth's starting lineup that it used last night against Penn, without Gabas Maldunas, ranged from 5-9 (Malik Gill) to 6-8 (Brandon McDonnell) with an average of 6-3.
• The Tigers have upped their point total from first halves to second halves in 11 of the 16 games this season. Princeton is 10-0 when leading at the half this season and has won 22 straight such games.
• Princeton is on pace to break the program record for 3-pointers made in a season. The 1997-98 team made 265, and at Princeton's present clip of 10.5 threes per game, with 12 more regular-season games to play, the projected final regular-season number stands at 294.
• Princeton has nearly doubled its opponents in the number of 3-pointers made this season, canning 168 to 86 for its foes. The Tigers have also tried significantly more than their opponents, though not quite twice as many, at 442-247.
• Of Princeton's 855 field goal attempts this season, 442, or 51.7 percent, have been from beyond the arc.
• Princeton is 9-1 this season when holding opponents below 37 percent from beyond the arc and 3-3 when foes hit at least 37 percent of their treys.
• Rebounding has not been much of a predictor of victory for Princeton this season. Princeton has won the rebounding battle in 8 of 16 games this season and is 6-2 in those contests. Princeton is 6-2 when losing the rebounding stat, with both of those losses coming in Princeton's two Ivy games.

• Dartmouth had nine wins a year ago, its most since winning nine games in 2008-09. The Big Green already have eight this season and haven't won more than 10 games since their last winning season of 1998-99, when the Big Green finished 14-12. Head coach Paul Cormier, who coached at Dartmouth from 1984-91, is in his fourth season back with the Big Green.
• The Big Green lost 6-9 junior Gabas Maldunas for the season due to a torn ACL that he suffered in practice prior to last weekend. Maldunas entered this weekend as the leading rebounder in the Ivy League at 8.5 rpg.
• Dartmouth sophomore Malik Gill missed three of the team's first 19 games but had a career-high 16 points last weekend against Harvard.
• Dartmouth senior Tyler Melville had double-figure scoring games in six of his first 10 contests but has scored no more than three points in any of his last seven games.
• Dartmouth is 6-0 when scoring 37 or more points by halftime and 2-9 when not reaching 37 points at the half. Dartmouth is 5-1 when scoring 77 points or more and 3-8 when not reaching 77.
• Dartmouth more than doubled its scoring output from first half to second half Friday night against Penn, going from 21 points to 46 after the break.
• Dartmouth is 7-0 when shooting 48 percent or better from the field and 1-9 when shooting below 48 percent, with the Penn win as their first such win.
• Dartmouth is 2-8 when its opponents reach 30 points by halftime and 6-1 when holding opponents below 30 points by half. The Big Green is 7-1 when opponents score 61 or fewer points and 2-8 when opponents score at least 62 points.
• Opponents who shoot at least 44 percent are 7-1 this season against the Big Green, with the Penn game being the first such loss. Dartmouth is 7-2 when holding opponents below 44 percent from the field.

| Mitch Henderson '98 is in his third season as Princeton's head coach. His overall record at Princeton is 49-27. Under Henderson, Princeton is 25-6 at home, 20-10 in the Ivy League, and 13-1 in the Ivy League at home. Princeton is 38-8 when leading at the half under Henderson and has won 22 straight such games. Henderson is aiming to become the first Princeton coach since John Thompson III '88 to have winning seasons in each of his first three campaigns. He would be the sixth Princeton coach to accomplish that, following Frederick Luehring (1912-20), Butch van Breda Kolff '44 (1962-67), Pete Carril (1967-96), Bill Carmody (1996-2000) and Thompson III '88 (2000-04). Henderson is in ninth place on the Princeton all-time wins list, with predecessor Sydney Johnson '97 in eighth with 66 wins over four seasons. With 37 wins through his first two seasons, Henderson was fourth on the list of wins for Princeton coaches through their first two campaigns, behind Carmody (51), van Breda Kolff (39), and Carril (39). Henderson was a second-team All-Ivy Leaguer in 1998, an honorable mention All-Ivy Leaguer in 1997, and was a two-time Ivy Rookie of the Week in 1994-95. Henderson graduated as the fourth-leading assist man in program history (kept since 1974-75) and is now fifth, having been surpassed by one of his players, Ian Hummer '13. Henderson graduated fifth in career assists (kept since 1974-75) and is now eighth, having been passed by former teammate Gabe Lewullis '99, current San Diego Padre Will Venable '05 and Marcus Schroeder '10. Henderson is one of seven Princeton alumni who are current Division I head coaches, including John Thompson III '88 (Georgetown), Joe Scott '87 (Denver), Mike Brennan '94 (American), Chris Mooney '94 (Richmond), Sydney Johnson '97 (Fairfield) and Craig Robinson '83 (Oregon State). The Tigers are second only to North Carolina (eight) in alumni as current D-I head coaches. Prior to Princeton, Henderson coached at Northwestern for 11 seasons under his final head coach at Princeton, Bill Carmody, from 2000-11. |
