Baer Garners Ivy League Baseball Rookie of the Week Honors
March 11, 2014 | Baseball
After batting .360 over his first seven collegiate games, Princeton baseball outfielder Danny Baer was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week. He is the second Tiger to earn the honor in as many weeks and shares the accolade with Brown's Christian Taugner.
Baer has made a seamless transition into the collegiate game and is coming off a standout weekend versus Michigan. He batted .333, going 5-for-15 with four RBI, three runs, two doubles and recorded his first career triple. Along with tallying at least a hit in three of the four games, he posted his second and third multi-hit efforts.
He was key in Princeton earning its second win of the year, 6-5, on Mar. 8 behind his 2-for-5 outing with two runs, two RBI, a double and a triple.
Baer and the Tigers (2-5) hit the road next for their annual Spring Break trip through the Mid-Atlantic from Mar. 15-23.
