Ivy Championship Football Trio Competes During Princeton Football Pro Day
March 13, 2014 | Football
Months after leading the 2013 Princeton football team to the program's 10th Ivy League championship, seniors Matt Landry, Caraun Reid and Roman Wilson competed in the 2014 Princeton Football Pro Day Thursday morning.
Reid had the opportunity to build on his work at both the Senior Bowl and the NFL Combine, while Landry and Wilson were getting their first shot to test for NFL teams. Due to unseasonably cold and windy conditions, all drills took place inside. Following the lift and vertical jump in the Princeton Stadium weight room, the rest of the session took place on the turf field inside Jadwin Gymnasium.
Nine NFL teams were in attendance, though others have individual workouts already scheduled with Reid, a two-time All-America and three-time First-Team All-Ivy League honoree. Because of his work at the Combine, Reid did not do all of the tests that Landry and Wilson did; Reid did improve on both his 40 (4.87) and vertical jumps (27.5).
Following the standard Combine tests, all three players went through individual drills. Jay Hayes, the veteran defensive line coach of the Cincinnati Bengals (and former co-worker of Princeton head coach Bob Surace), worked out both Reid and Landry in defensive drills. Landry followed that by joining Wilson in passing drills.
The trio was cheered on throughout the morning by several of their Ivy championship teammates and coaches.
