| A second-inning grand slam by Pacific's Taylor Brink gave Pacific all the runs it needed in Wednesday's first game. Princeton avoided a run-rule defeat when Maddie Cousens doubled home Skye Jerpbak in the seventh, but that was as close as Princeton got in the opener once Pacific got on the board. It was Princeton that got on the scoreboard early in the second game, with Alyssa Schmidt cashing in a leadoff walk to Rachel Rendina in the first inning, two frames before the Tigers tacked on three more. Schmidt had a two-run single in that inning and later scored on an error as Princeton took a 4-0 lead. That was enough for rookie Erica Nori, who gave up four hits and four walks but let single runs across only in the third and fourth innings in her complete-game win. |
