Eight Men?s Water Polo Players Collect ACWPC All-Academic Honors

Eight Princeton men's water polo players have earned Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPA) 2013 All-Academic Team honors, it was announced Tuesday.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must carry a 3.2 cumulative GPA or higher and the individual award is comprised of three categories. Outstanding honors go to players with a GPA between 3.71-4.00, Superior honors are awarded to GPA's between 3.41-3.70 and Excellent honors are for GPA's ranging from 3.20-3.40.
For the fourth consecutive season senior A.J. Galainena paced the Tigers earning Outstanding honors.
Juniors Sam Butler and Kevin Zhang each collected Superior honors for the third and second seasons, respectively, while four-time recipient senior Kurt Buchbinder concludes his career with Superior honors and is joined by classmate Ben Dearborn.
Princeton placed three student-athletes on the Excellent team, with junior Kayj Shannon earning his third recognition, sophomore Alex Gow picking up consecutive honors and freshman Lachie Kermode joining the academic team to round out the Tiger honorees.
