Jarmas Earns All-Ivy Honors as Men's Golf Places Fourth
April 27, 2014 | Men's Golf
Princeton senior Greg Jarmas capped his career with a second-team All-Ivy League honor after firing a final-round 69 to climb into the top 10 and help the Tigers improve three places over the course of the day to a fourth-place finish at the Ivy League Championship.
Jarmas was one of five players to card a round under 70 on Baltusrol Golf Club's Lower Course with his final-round score just one shot off the tournament-low round of 68 had by Columbia's Christopher Chu Saturday as the Lions moved into first place.
Princeton's final-round 297 was the lowest round of any team Sunday as the Tigers continued to cut shots off their total over the course of the tournament, from a first-round 308 to a 300 Saturday. Columbia held off challengers Yale and Harvard to win by 12 shots the team title that the Tigers won a year ago.
On the individual leaderboard, Harvard's Theodore Lederhausen and Brown's Nelson Hargrove each finished at +5, and Lederhausen topped Hargrove on the first playoff hole to win the individual title. Jarmas paced Princeton at 13-over. Jarmas's 1-under score Sunday helped him climb from a tie for 26th place, where he entered the day, to a tie for ninth at the end of the tournament's 54 holes.
