Ninth-Ranked Tigers Remain Perfect In Southern Division, Sweep Ivy Duo
April 05, 2014 | Women's Water Polo
Senior Katie Rigler led the Tigers with a first-half hat trick against Brown, while classmate Molly McBee helped keep Brown from getting close with a pair of second-half goals. It was a well-balanced offensive performance, as Princeton got its 11 goals from eight different scorers.
The first two came from sophomore Diana Murphy and junior Ashley Hatcher, and those helped eliminate any potential early momentum from a 1-0 Brown lead.
Another momentum-blocker for Brown was sophomore goaltender Ashleigh Johnson, who made 12 of Princeton's 13 saves before being replaced late for junior Cece Coffey.
Sophomore Pippa Temple had a team-high two assists, while both Hatcher and Kelly Gross had two steals apiece.
In the nightcap, Princeton got a pair of goals in each quarter and shut the Crimson out in both the first and third quarters en route to an 8-4 victory.
Both Murphy and Jessie Holechek scored two goals apiece for Princeton, which is now 25-1 on the season. Hatcher, McBee, Rigler and Temple each added a goal for the Tigers, who will host George Washington Sunday at 1 pm in the home finale.
Johnson had 15 saves for Princeton, while Hatcher added two assists and two steals.
