April 06, 2014 | Men's Golf
Princeton's men's golf teams placed fourth in the Met Intercollegiate, which featured eight teams playing two courses in Purchase, N.Y. Saturday.
Century Country Club, where Princeton played in the Century Intercollegiate, another Yale-hosted event, the last few years, co-hosted the event with Old Oaks Country Club. Century hosted the first round with the field heading to Old Oaks for the final 18 holes.
Georgia, which was ranked No. 5 in the nation on the latest Golfweek list, won the tournament by 33 shots over runner-up Yale, with Harvard five shots back of Yale and Princeton 15 shots behind Harvard.
Georgia had five of the top six individual finishers, with Lee McCoy carding a first-round 64 and following it with a 71 to finish 11 shots in front of teammate Nicholas Reach and Yale's Sam Bernstein. No other player broke 70 in a round.
Greg Jarmas and Alex Dombrowski turned in top-10 finishes as each tied for seventh at +11, 18 shots back of McCoy.
The Tigers will host the Princeton Invitational next Saturday and Sunday in the next-to-last event before the Ivy League Championship at month's end.
