Ratcliffe Claims Seventh Hammer Victory of Season

Day 1 Results
PRINCETON, N.J. (5/2/14) – Sophomore Julia Ratcliffe won her seventh hammer throw event of the season as the Princeton women's track & field team began Day 1 of the two-day Elite Meet on the Princeton campus.
Ratcliffe has won the hammer on each of her seven outings this season, and did so today with a 69.85 (229-02) on her final throw. Her other attempts would have won the event, as she threw to 65.16, 69.07, 65.31 and 67.59.
Senior Henrietta Miers led the Tigers in the 800 at 2:14.59 and freshman Alexandra Markovich led the team in the 1500 at 4:38.41.
Princeton alum Liz Costello '10 came back to her former track and won the 5k. Costello clocked 16:27.96 in the race.
Day 2 continues at 11 a.m., with the shot put.
