PRINCETON, N.J. – After helping the Princeton University field hockey team to a pair of wins over Dartmouth College and American University, sophomore Cat Caro has been named the Suburban Transit GoPrincetonTigers.com Athlete of the Week.
Netting her first points of the season during Saturday's Ivy League opener against Dartmouth, Caro assisted on a Maddie Copeland goal at the 25:04 mark of the first half to put the Tigers up 3-0. Capping off the scoring just over 10 minutes into the second, Caro backhanded a shot into the Big Green cage to notch her first goal of 2014.
Also finding the back of the net the following afternoon against American, Caro put in the game's first goal at 32:30. Finding open space in the middle of the circle, the sophomore standout settled a Stephanie Goldberg feed before ripping a hard shot past Eagles' netminder Kate McBeath to close out her stellar weekend with two goals and an assist.
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, Sept. 27 at Yale University.
