Monday Notes: Highlights, Hylton Earns Defensive Player of the Week
September 29, 2014 | Football
HIGHLIGHTS: Princeton 56, Davidson 17
As Princeton begins preparations for its Ivy League opener, we take a final look back at a wild Week 2 home win over Davidson. Check out the highlights from the 56-17 win over Davidson, including an 11-tackle performance from Rohan Hylton that earned him Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Hylton was all over the place against Davidson, recording 1.5 tackles for loss and five solo stops in Princeton's first home opener victory since 2010. Not only was it a career high for the sophomore from Orlando, Fla., but it was Princeton's first double-digit tackle game since Dorian Williams had 12 in a 59-23 win over Yale last season.
"Rohan played really well Saturday night," head coach Bob Surace said. "He continues to progress. He's active, he's always around the football, and he made a bunch of plays in the backfield. We love the energy he brings to the field every game."
Hylton is Princeton's first Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week since Caraun Reid '14, a member of the Detroit Lions, earned the honor after a 19-0 shutout of Brown during Week 5 of the 2012 season.
