Women's Golf Announces Fall Slate
September 05, 2014 | Women's Golf
Fall Schedule
Four tournaments will comprise the schedule for the women's golf team in the fall under Erika DeSanty in her first year as Princeton's head coach, beginning with a return trip to Vanderbilt in mid-September and followed by tournaments at Penn State, the annual home Princeton Invitational, and a visit to Lehigh's tournament.
The Vanderbilt-hosted Mason Rudolph Invitational, played Sept. 19-21 at the Legends Club in Franklin, Tennessee, will see Princeton in the field for the second straight year. Princeton's visit to the Nittany Lion Invitational, held Oct. 3-5 on Penn State's Blue Course, will be the second in three years after the Tigers competed in the event seven times in the 2000s.
Princeton will host the annual Princeton Invitational at Springdale Golf Club Oct. 18-19, a tournament that the program has hosted annually since the 1997-98 season except for a one-year break in 2012-13. Princeton's visit to the Lehigh Invitaitonal will be its third straight and fourth overall, coming two years after Princeton won the event in October 2012.
Though the Tigers graduated two-time Ivy League Player of the Year Kelly Shon '14, Princeton returns the rest of its lineup from last year's runner-up finish at the Ivy League Championship, including sophomore and second-team All-Ivy honoree Hana Ku, classmate Jordan Lippetz and juniors Alexandra Wong and Sydney Kersten.
