Women's Track & Field to Host St. John's, Saint Joseph's in Tri-Meet

PRINCETON, N.J. – After a month-long break, the Princeton University women's track and field team returns to action on Friday, Jan. 9 as it welcomes St. John's and Saint Joseph's to Jadwin Gymnasium for a Tri-Meet.
The meet is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. with the weight throw. The first scored running event will be the mile run at 6:30 p.m. The last event of the evening, the 4x800m relay, will begin at 8:10 p.m.
In the team's indoor opener, the New Year's Invitational, on Dec. 7, Julia Ratcliffe won the weight throw with a personal-best and Princeton-record mark of 19.95 (65-5.50). Teammate Brielle Rowe placed third with a toss of 14.82 (48-7.50).
Sophomore Zoe Sims won the mile by nearly 10 seconds with a time of 5:13.68, while the Tigers dominated the 1,000m by claiming the first five slots. Kim Mackay and Ashley Forte finished 1-2 in the 600m, while Kerry Krause, Sara Ronde, Taylor Morgan and Michelle Tracy placed second in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:57.44.
At last season's Tri-Meet against St. John's and Saint Joseph's, Princeton captured five of the six field events en route to a first-place showing. Ratcliffe won the weight throw with a toss of 18.91 (62.0-50). Rowe finished first in the shot put at 11.70 (38-4.75), while Lauren Santi took first in the pole vault, clearing 3.35 (10-11.75).
In the track events, Princeton runners claimed the first five spots in the mile and the first four places in the 500m. Emily de La Bruyere and Birdie Hutton were 1-2 in the 1000m, while the Tigers swept the top three in the 3,000-meter run led by Lindsay Eysenbach.
