Mattaliano Wins Suburban Transit Player Of The Week; Playoff Is Friday At 7
November 16, 2015 | General, Women's Volleyball
Junior outside hitter Cara Mattaliano was named the Suburban Transit/GoPrincetonTigers.com Athlete of the Week after leading the Princeton women's volleyball team to a thrilling Ivy League championship Saturday night.
Mattaliano led Princeton to its first Ivy League volleyball title in eight years with arguably the best performance of her All-Ivy League career. She produced the first 20-20 match of her All-Ivy career; her 21 kills tied an all-time best, while her 25 digs was second-most of her career. She added 12 kills and 14 digs one night earlier in a 3-0 win at Cornell.
Princeton shared the Ivy League championship with Harvard, which claimed the tiebreaker and will host Friday's playoff match at 7 pm to determine the winner of the Ivy League's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. The match will be streamed live on the Ivy League Digital Network.
