Wheatley Named Ivy League Women's Basketball Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. – Alex Wheatley of the Princeton University women's basketball team has been named the Ivy League Player of the Week after helping the Tigers to a pair of wins over Monmouth and Pittsburgh.
Averaging 15.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game, Wheatley connected on 61.1 percent (11-18) of her field goal attempts en route to the second Ivy POTW award of her career. The third Tiger to garner POTW honors this season, a Princeton player has laid claim to the league's Player of the Week award in 18 of the last 19 weeks the team has played a game and been eligible.
Against Monmouth, Wheatley poured in 15 points, connecting on six of her eight shot attempts. Going 3-of-4 from the charity stripe, Wheatley also collected four rebounds, an assist, and a block. Also netting 15 points against Pitt, Wheatley recorded five rebounds, two assists, and two blocks. Going 5-of-10 from the field, Wheatley was 5-of-8 from the free throw line.
Wheatley and the Tigers return to action on Monday, Dec. 14 against Fordham.
