PRINCETON, N.J. – Michelle Miller of the Princeton University women's basketball team has been named the Ivy League Player of the Week after helping the Tigers to a 74-57 victory over previously unbeaten Michigan on ESPN2.
Pouring in a team-high 24 points, Miller connected on nine of her 15 field goal attempts (60.0 percent), including 6-of-8 three-pointers (75.0 percent). Playing 36 minutes, Miller also pulled down eight rebounds.
Miller's 24 points, nine FGs, and 15 FGA all tie a season-high for the Tigers this season, which she set against Duquesne on Nov. 15. Miller's six triples are also the most by a Princeton player this year.
Averaging a team-high 16.1 points per game, Miller ranks fifth in the Ivy in scoring, sixth in field goal percentage (50.0) and third in third-point shooting (41.9). Garnering her first Ivy POTW of the year, Miller has helped Princeton capture league-wide honors in three of the first four weeks of the season.
Annie Tarakchian garnered POTW accolades on Nov. 16 and Nov. 30. Last year, a Tiger laid claim to the Ivy POTW award in each of the 14 weeks the team played a game and was eligible.
Miller and the Tigers return to action on Tuesday, Dec. 8 against Monmouth.
