| Princeton scored early, late and in between against Florida A&M to open Friday's play at the University of Central Florida's tournament, and freshman Ashley LaGuardia's performance in the circle more than backed it up as the Tigers came away with a 9-1 run-rule win in six innings. Seven Tigers had hits in the opener, and Kylee Pierce, Emily Viggers and Skye Jerpbak all had two-hit games with Pierce, Marissa Reynolds and Rachel Rendina driving in two runs apiece. In the nightcap, Princeton played catch-up after a pair of first-inning runs for UCF, which was ranked No. 15 in the nation in the ESPN.com/USA Today poll and No. 17 by the NFCA. The Tigers got one of those back in the top of the second when Jerpbak doubled home Haley Hineman, and Princeton pulled even in the sixth when Cara Worden drove home Kylee Pierce. The tie was short-lived, though, as UCF used two walks and two singles to push a run across before Knights pitcher Shelby Turnier entered the game to close the door on Princeton and earn the save. |

| Ashley LaGuardia continued to shoulder the pitching load for Princeton, throwing all but 2 1/3 of the team's 12 innings Friday. She gave up seven hits and walked five, but she stranded enough of them to emerge with a 0.72 ERA and a 1-1 record for the day. |

| Princeton had 10 hits in the opener against Florida A&M, and Marissa Reynolds' two-RBI double gave Princeton a 5-0 lead in the fourth inning. UCF's Linnea Goodman provided the RBI single that gave the Knights a 3-2 lead in the sixth inning, holding off the upset-minded Tigers. |

• This was Princeton's first-ever win against Florida A&M in the fifth game of the all-time series. The teams had met just last weekend at Florida Atlantic, where FAMU won 9-5. |
