Men's Swimming & Diving Wraps Up Regular Season Friday Night At Columbia
February 04, 2015 | Men's Swimming and Diving
The Princeton men's swimming and diving team knows that all Ivy League roads will eventually lead to DeNunzio Pool at the end of February. But the Tigers have one more road trip to make as a team.
Princeton (7-3, 5-1 Ivy) heads to Uris Pool Friday at 6 pm to take on Columbia in the Tigers' regular season finale. Princeton is coming off a weekend split of its annual H-Y-P meet; the Tigers knocked off Yale 267.5-85.5, but fell 190-163 to reigning Ivy champion Harvard.
The meet will not be streamed live on video, but Columbia will be updating live results via Meet Mobile.
Princeton has split the last two seasons with Columbia, though its loss did come at Uris Pool. The Lions earned a 158-139 victory at home prior to Princeton's victory at the 2013 Ivy League Championships, while the Tigers avenged that meet last season with a 186-94 home win. Several Princeton swimmers had individual victories that day, including current senior Caleb Tuten, who won the 200 breast in 2:02.30.
Tuten is one of 12 seniors who will compete in their final regular season meet this weekend. Among that group is a trio of former Ivy League individual champions in Connor Maher, Michael Strand and Harrison Wagner, each of whom will have the opportunities to complete their careers at DeNunzio Pool when the Ivy League Championships head there Feb. 26-28.
