COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Princeton University baseball team returns to action this weekend with a three-game set against the University of Maryland.
Due to impending weather, the series will undergo several schedule changes. Friday's (Mar. 13) opener will be played at Bob “Turtle” Smith Stadium at 3 p.m.
Saturday's (Mar. 14) game will be moved to Harford Community College with first pitch scheduled for 7 p.m. The final game of the weekend set is slated for 2 p.m. on Sunday, Mar. 15 back at Bob “Turtle” Smith Stadium.
THE WEEK THAT WAS
• Princeton went 1-3 in a four-game set against UNC-Greensboro last weekend.
• Dropping the first game of a Saturday doubleheader, 12-3, the Tigers won the nightcap, 14-9.
• Losing the first game of Sunday's twinbill, 6-5, Princeton fell in the series finale, 16-7.
• Nick Donatiello and Nick Brady did not allow an earned run in six innings for the Tigers in relief, allowing just three hits.
• Peter Owens hit .538 during the weekend set, with a .625 on-base percentage.
• Zack Belski hit .500 with a home run and six RBI.
• Danny Hoy batted .467 against UNC-Greensboro with three home runs and nine RBI.
• Billy Arendt went 7-for-16 (.438) with three doubles, five RBI and five runs scored.
WEEKLY ACCOLADES
• Danny Hoy was named the Ivy League and Corvias ECAC Division I Metro/Upstate Player of the Week after putting together an impressive weekend showing at UNC-Greensboro.
• Hoy's Ivy POTW honor is the first for a Princeton player since Mike Ford garnered recognition from the conference on Apr. 9, 2013.
• Hitting .467 in 15 at-bats, Hoy posted a .579 on-base and 1.133 slugging percentage against the Spartans.
• Driving in nine runs, Hoy had a double and three homers in the series.
• Hoy went 3-for-4 in Princeton's lone win over the weekend with a double, two walks, two RBI and two runs scored.
• Homering in the first game of Sunday's twinbill, Hoy went 3-for-5 in the nightcap with two more home runs, three runs scored and five RBI.
• Through the team's first seven games, Hoy is hitting .357 with a .438 OBP and .786 slugging percentage.
• Hoy currently leads the squad in doubles (3), home runs (3), RBI (11) and runs scored (8).
FAST START
• Through seven games, Princeton tops the Ivy League in slugging percentage (.429), is second in team batting average (.290) and third in on-base percentage (.370).
• Tied for the conference lead in runs scored (37), the Tigers have belted an Ivy-best six homers and are tied for third in doubles (12).
• Peter Owens is currently third in the Ivy in batting average (.478) and fourth in on-base percentage (.556).
• Tying for the league lead in home runs (3) while driving in a conference-best 11 runs, Danny Hoy is third in slugging (.786).
• Billy Arendt is currently ninth in the conference in batting average (.370), while sitting tied for second in doubles (3).
• Zack Belski is hitting .346 on the season, with a .433 on-base percentage. His seven RBI rank second on the team and are tied for fourth in the Ivy League.
ON THE MOUND
• Logging 3.1 innings in a pair of relief appearances, Nick Donatiello has not allowed a run, giving up just three hits.
• Chris Bodurian has posted a 1.93 earned run average in 4.2 innings of relief, holding opponents to a .250 batting average.
• Tyler Foote has surrendered four hits in 5.2 innings, posting a 3.18 ERA and .182 opponent batting average.
• Despite going winless in his first two starts, Chad Powers has been the Tigers' top starter so far this season, recording a 4.00 ERA after allowing just four earned runs in 9.0 innings.

• Princeton is 4-7-1 all-time against Maryland.
