Dietrick Named to Women's Basketball Coaches Association All-Region Squad

PRINCETON, N.J. – Senior co-captain Blake Dietrick of the 13th-ranked Princeton University women's basketball team added to her growing list of postseason accolades, earning a spot on the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-Region team.
One of 52 players to be recognized nationally, Dietrick is the only Ivy League representative on the All-Region squads. The selection committee will select this year's 10-member WBCA All-America team from the All-Region pool.
Earlier this year, Dietrick became just the 10th player in Ivy League history to unanimously be selected the conference's Player of the Year. A two-time first team All-Ivy nominee, Dietrick is the third Princeton player to accomplish the feat, joining Addie Micir (2010-11) and Niveen Rasheed (2011-12, 2012-13).
Securing a place on the Naismith Trophy Midseason 30 for the best collegiate player in the nation and the Nancy Lieberman Watch List for the best point guard in the country, Dietrick is just one of three players in conference history to rack up at least seven Ivy POTW awards in one season.
Over the course of her career, Dietrick has collected 11 Ivy POTW awards, tying Harvard's Hana Peljto for the fourth-most in league history. Also a three-time CollegeSportsMadness.com Ivy POTW this year, Dietrick became only person in program history to twice be named the USBWA National Player of the Week, earning her second citation from the organization on Jan. 6.
Averaging career-highs in points, assists and rebounds per game, Dietrick shot a career-best 48.6 percent from the floor this season. Leading the conference in assists per game (5.1), she finished tied for third in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.6), and fifth in scoring (14.7), field goal percentage, and three-point shooting (41.5).
In her final collegiate game, Dietrick poured in a team-high 26 points on 10-of-18 shooting in an NCAA Second Round match-up against top-seeded Maryland. Ranked 11th on the Tigers' all-time scoring list (1,233), Dietrick's 210 career three-pointers are third on the school's charts, while her 346 assists are fourth. Her 157 helpers this year are a program record and is the fifth-highest single-season total in Ivy history.
